Nothing like a social-media storm to show us that winter is on its way…..

There’s a chill in the air and the umbrellas are popping up all around; The Pumpkins are being carved and the fireworks are being stocked; the annual Guardian Ski and Snowboard show is next weekend and orange leaves are being trodden into the pavement by herd of commuters desperate to get out of the rain; the Christmas lights were put up on Oxford Street 2 weeks ago and John Lewis inevitably has its decorations up already! Yep, think it’s fair to say winter is just around the corner…

Not one to miss out on these exciting seasonal changes, British Gas decided to jump on the winter-telltales bandwagon last week with a real ice breaker; the power company announced they were raising their prices 9.2%.

They quickly took to social media, announcing a Q&A with Customer Service Director Bert Pijls answering questions from customers about the price rise using the hashtag #AskBG. As you might expect, this raised temperatures somewhat.
